why need reset oil? If the oil service light comes on while you are driving, it means the oil pressure in the engine of your car has dropped. An engine requires a constant supply of oil typically when moving for its parts to get lubricated. Driving on without addressing this issue might cause serious damage to your car engine. When you see oil service lights popping on, take the necessary action to safeguard your vehicle.

Procedures:
Insert the ThinkDiag device into OBDII port in your vehicle
Note: The green light appears on the ThinkDiag indicates that the device powers on.
Turn the ignition on
There are maintenance lights on the dashboard and ask to change engine oil soon
Open ThinkDiag APP
Go to ThinkStore
Select the corresponding vehicle- GM
It will connect the vehicle via Bluetooth automatically
After the Bluetooth connection, select Automatically Search to read VIN
Reading data…
Read out the vehicle info successfully, incl. VIN, vehicle year, source, make, model, type and engine identifier, click “OK” to continue
There are two ways to get into the options of resetting the oil.
Method 1: Select Health Report
Start scanning all the modules, the engine oil would be under the engine control module
Click pause when find the option you need
Method 2: Press System Selection
Just select Engine Control Module (ECM) directly
Then select Special Functions
There are two options: Learn functions and reset functions
Select Reset Functions-> Engine Oil Life Reset
Pay attention to the notice and click the engine oil life remaining
Input a decimal number between value 90 and 100, then confirm it
Note: If you just changed the oil, you can probably input 100.If it was changed maybe a few miles ago, input 90.
Reset engine oil service successfully
The new engine oil life remaining shows and the notice has gone off the dashboard
2015 Chevrolet Suburban (5.3L) reset oil by ThinkDiag, done!
Once you drive for 5000 more miles or however long your car is set for. It will get another notification and you can just go to reset the oil again.
